Intel's P965 chipset has finally hit the scene with wide availability, and is becoming the platform of choice for those building Core 2 Duo Systems. It's with this in mind that we decided to take a look at one offering from Gigabyte, the Gigabyte GA-965P-S3. We'll tell you up front this is a board that leaves us scratching our heads, going “what was Gigabyte thinking?”. It's not all bad, not at all. To better understand what we mean, I guess you'll have to read the review, eh?
We here at FastSilicon.com love processors. We believe everything can be made better with a CPU. So it's only natural that when we heard we could replace our old keyed doorknob with a doorknob with a processor we jumped at the chance. The Taft Electric Lock Company agrees and has introduced a keyless doorknob with a digital keypad. Why is this significant and how well does it work? Read on to find out.
Over the next few weeks we'll be
releasing a three part series called “Core2 Dream Machines.”
Though we won't be revealing any of our preliminary results today, we
did want to share a bit of our thinking process with you. At the core
of any system build is the CPU and we've chosen Intel's Core2Duo
E6300 as the platform of choice. Why? Read on warrior of geek-dom, and
you'll soon find out.
Liteon's 160P6S DVD burner is in the hot seat today.
Sporting 16x +/R, 8x+R-DL, 4x-R-DL, 8x +RW and 6x-RW burning speeds as well as
an attractively low price, is this a good burner for the money? We'll take a
look.
