Every once in awhile a product comes out that even shocks us hardware reviewers. Let's say, for example, a DVD player came out that allowed you to play all your DivX files. That's right, you heard me, a DVD player that plays DivX, so you no longer have to connect your PC to your TV, or if you're like me and have a dedicated PC connection to your TV for DivX, no more waiting for Windows to start-up and hearing the CD-ROM hum and fans buzz as you watch your latest DivX file.

What if this hypothetical DivX player also played open source XviD, and not only was it compatible with several versions of DivX (3.x through 5.x) but it was also firmware upgradeable to support future versions of DivX and XviD? And while we're making up stuff why not let it play MP3, MP4, VCD, SVCD, DVD+RW, CD-RW, Picture CD (JPEG)… and the kitchen sink.

Ok now let's decide on a price... $300 sounds fair right? I mean after all, it is replacing a PC without the long start-up and it's quieter. No? Ok, how about $70? Ha-ha yeah right, wouldn't that be great, a $70 DivX player...ha-ha... sigh... if only....

Now, what if I told you it existed?
