Page 8 of 8 Nigel's Thoughts: For the upgrader on a budget, we have several synergies going on here that make this project a no brainer. DDR-2 prices have stabilized and reached parity with DDR, Intel 975 and 965 chipset boards are plentiful and inexpensive, and Intel's got a monster of a sleeper CPU in the Core 2 Duo E6300. At the configured price, this is a system that will just spank anything else for the money! Scott's Thoughts: These inexpensive Allendale Core 2 Duo E6300's are absolute monsters when overclocked. Getting them within the clockspeed and overall performance range of Conroe's isn't too terribly hard either. Like Nigel says, price synergies with memory and motherboards have made switching to Intel's new architecture an almost no brainer for the enthusiast, and we feel proud of what we were able to do with an extremely tight budget. {mos_sb_discuss:6}
