| The Apple iPhone - Part 1 - Camping Out |

Our contributing editor Chris decided to be our official press presence (i.e. guinea pig) and braved the rampaging mobs outside the Apple Store at a local Oklahoma City Mall. Along with local television news, 193 soon to be iPhone owners were along for the ride as well, awaiting the 6:00pm "reopening" of the Apple Store.
For the most part this was a collection of either Macphiles or existing iPod users, and (un?)fortunately no riots or other types of major drama.
If some of the photography seems a bit impromptu we apologize. We had to be extremely careful as to when we were photographing and filming. Why? Blame it on the police presence. Police? Yes police. Both Oklahoma City cops and mall security circulated through and around the modest crowd attempting to keep the peace as well as enforce a photography ban. So much for freedom of the press eh?   
The video ended not due to the line ending, but due to one of our wonderful law enforcement people making us stop filming.
Chris conducted some impromptu interviews of the crowd, and we'll have those up for you later, along with a quick preview of the iPhone, before we do a full blown review. There's just so much hype and hysteria about this device we feel that we have to spread this coverage out to do the whole process due justice.
The Apple folks even went as far as rolling out black sheeting over the store glass during their preparations. We suppose this was a good suspense-building device.
