Despite all of the deliberately overstated gloom and doom the ball is being placed squarely in AMD's court again. Intel has a powerful architecture, and their ability to build a successful platform is second to none. To be honest it's a long overdue development. Competition ultimately benefits everyone, and it's good to see Intel back in the fight for real this time. Still, this is an important time for Intel, and turning the direction of such a large company is no small task. I'm confident Intel will manage the transition with few missteps. Nonetheless, it'll be an interesting process to witness over the next few quarters.
